HoopZone ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the HoopZone mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address, username, full name, playing position, height, and optionally a profile photo and location text.

Training Data: We collect your shooting records including makes, attempts, court zone (spot), and timestamps to calculate your performance metrics.

Device Permissions:

Camera & Photo Library: Used only to let you set a profile picture. Photos are uploaded to our secure storage and never shared with third parties.
Location: Used only to display a location label on your profile. We do not track your real-time location or share it.
Notifications: Used to send you training reminders. You can disable these at any time in your device settings.

Usage Data: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data (screens visited, features used) to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account
To calculate and display your shooting metrics and progress
To personalize your training experience
To send training reminders (only if you enable notifications)
To improve app performance and features through anonymous analytics

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on Supabase and Render. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Profile photos are stored in Supabase Storage with private access controls.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

4. Third-Party Services

Google Sign-In: Used for authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymous usage data. Subject to Firebase's Privacy Policy.
Supabase: Database and file storage provider. Data is stored in the US.

We do not sell your personal data to any third parties.

5. Children's Privacy

HoopZone is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

6. Your Rights

Access: You can view all your data in the app at any time.
Correction: You can update your profile information in the app.
Deletion: You can delete your account from the Settings screen. All data will be permanently removed.
Portability: Contact us to request an export of your data.

7. Data Safety (Google Play)

In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety requirements:

Personal info (name, email, profile photo): collected, not shared with third parties, encrypted in transit, user can delete
App activity (training records, workout history): collected, not shared, encrypted in transit, user can delete
Location (profile label only): collected, not shared, not used for tracking
Photos: collected only if user chooses to set a profile photo, not shared
Device identifiers: used anonymously by Firebase Analytics only

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
